Why people want formal recognition

Recently, we looked at over our 800+ RPL candidates are, and one of the things that stood out was that most people receive their qualification in their late 30s.
In this video, I want to build on that by looking at a different question: why people undertake RPL in the first place.
Now, the data we use comes from a standard enrolment question that all RTOs are required to ask. It’s framed around “study reasons”, which makes sense in a traditional training environment. But when you look at it through the lens of Recognition of Prior Learning particularly for leadership and management it tells a slightly different story.
What it really reveals is not why people want to study, but why they want formal recognition at this point in their career.
And that distinction matters.
When we reviewed this data, one theme came through very clearly. Most people are not coming to RPL because they’re starting from scratch. They’re not doing it because they suddenly want to become a leader or manager.
They’re doing it because they already are one.
If you would like to learn more about how we can work together and how we can support you through the RPL process, feel free to book a friendly chat.
